How do I become a foster carer in North East?

For many years, UK Fostering has consistently delivered a high standard of foster care in North East England and is actively looking for people to become foster carers. Along with empowering people and families to adopt a caring role, we collaborate with local authorities in the region to find homes for kids who lack positive family life experiences.

Requirements to become a foster carer:

People who are single, married, or in committed relationships are allowed to apply.

You must be older than 21 years.

You can be employed, retired, or looking for a job.

You could either buy or rent a home. A spare bedroom is necessary for the foster child.

You might not have children, or you might have grown children living with you.

We will assess the fostering that would be most appropriate for your family and the needs and ages of the children to be placed based on the age and needs of your child or children.

People from all racial, religious, and cultural backgrounds are welcome to apply.

When it comes to fostering North East children, we know what is crucial. Because of this, we go above and beyond to ensure our foster parents have the education and assistance they require to help the children entrusted to their care thrive at the centre of their communities. There is a critical need for more foster families in the North East because we collaborate with local authorities, who send more than 1,000 children to us each year.

We require foster parents in the area who can look after kids of all ages, particularly those over the age of 10. We frequently receive referrals for sibling groups, so we're also seeking foster parents with extra room to keep siblings together.

You will be a part of a close-knit, encouraging, and child-centred team as a foster parent in the North East, where you'll have access to monthly foster parent support groups, frequent coffee mornings and afternoon teas, as well as a variety of family events like outings to theme parks and forest schools.
