Will I be paid in between fostering placements?

Foster parents and potential foster parents may mention how awkward it is to talk about money. But we want to reassure you that it's okay to inquire about wages and benefits because foster caregiver remuneration is essential.

At UK Fostering, we offer our foster parents a variety of supports. Your compensation as a foster care provider includes expenses like fees and allowances. Additionally, in appreciation of your commitment to and love for the foster children you care for and the complex, demanding, and crucial task you do.

There are two components to the payment you will get from UK Fostering:

The child's maintenance allowance

Fees for foster parents

If you foster, the money you get will always be sufficient to pay for everything you need to be able to take care of a kid or young adult. The cost of everything from food and clothing to transportation and personal items and housing bills are covered by the basic care stipend. The foster carer fee, which makes up the second part of the foster carer's salary, compensates you for the time, effort, and expertise you devote to caring for a child.

The amount each foster care provider makes will vary depending on various circumstances. The assessment and approach will be influenced by the type of placement, your circumstances, the age of each child or young adult, and the complexity of their needs and requirements. UK Fostering charges a daily fee and makes payments every week for their services.

In addition to the fees and allowances, you will also be qualified for several supplementary payments, such as for birthday, festival, and holiday allowances and extra travel costs.

Foster parents receive an allowance based on the child's needs and the type of placement. We do not pay fostering allowances in between placements. Nevertheless, if this is your preference, we constantly work to have as few gaps between postings as feasible.

While caring for a kid in placement, you are classified as a foster parent and receive weekly pay. It's crucial to keep in mind that you won't receive any fees or allowances when you don't have a placement.

To evaluate the appropriate foster carer compensation, we address your financial situation during the application and evaluation procedure, which is a multi-step process. Confidentiality also covers other topics, such as how you'll handle times when there isn't a placement.UK Fostering also provides 24x7 foster carer support.
